Biogas boiler
Biogas boiler for heating process water in a fermentation plant in water treatment. This boiler is suitable for a methane content of 30% and lower. In water treatment, fermentation of sewage treatment sludge generates methane gas which is used to produce biogas.
The fermentation process is best done at a higher temperature. There is a heat exchanger in the fermentation tank that heats the tank with hot water. A residual product, low-grade biogas, from the fermentation process is used to make hot water in a boiler. The high-quality biogas is used for CHP or for the production of high-quality biogas which can be supplied to the natural gas network.
A proprietary biogas burner has been developed for this Methane content, together with an innovative gas control system, using Wobbe index meeting, to supply the biogas with a constant heating value.
